The aim of this article is to situate Chapter II [People of God] of Lumen Gentium as the normative criterion which redefines the identity and mission of all ecclesial subjects,and consequently the relationships, the communicative dynamics and the structures for a synodal Church whose challenge is to achieve a new theological institutional model for the third millennium.
